Reactive Lines is an activation commissioned by the electric car company Polestar for its showroom at Zurich Design Week. Created through creative programming, it builds on the brand’s Motion Blur campaign, transforming it into a dynamic, interactive experience. Stretched, blurred lines of color evoke motion, speed, and perception, forming a clean, kinetic visual language that engages both the eye and the body.
Using code, Motion Blur campaign images were imported into custom scripts, their palettes analyzed, and transformed into new animated line compositions. These were then exported for video, print, and interactive formats, ensuring a cohesive and continuously evolving aesthetic across the entire space.
The experience unfolds throughout the showroom: semi-transparent vinyl graphics animate the street-facing window, a large video projection illuminates the main skylight at the entrance, LED-backlit prints from the Motion Blur campaign line the walls, and two additional skylights feature abstract, backlit colorful line compositions, creating beautiful reflections on the vehicles below. At the heart of the space, a tall screen reacts in real time to visitors’ movements, turning their presence into flowing lines of light and color. A floor pad allows them to capture this moment and print a Polaroid-style keepsake of their visit.
